Excellent stay overall - would recommend

The rooms were clean and comfortable, we had a baby with us and they provided us with a crib. We had no issues overall, location is very good and is next to the train station where you can catch the shinkansen. 7eleven right at the entrance of the hotel. Open late.

The location is close to the train station but if you have a lot of luggage, good luck going uphill for 500m. I had to carry 2 big and 2 small luggages as we came with the family, not easily accessible.

Wonderful

The hotel is well located. The room had a great view. The breakfast was good and plentiful. The staff was pleasant and helpful.

The carpet in the room was dirty and smelly. The curtains were not working properly. It was impossible to close them completely. The room was dated and badly in need of an update.

Great place to stay, if you want to explore Tokyo

We stayed 2 nights at the hotel. It has a huge and representative entry hall. Our room with 3 beds was also huge and we liked the space we had. Although the bathroom looked just a little bit dated, it was very clean and everything we needed was in place. We liked the proximity of the hotel to Shinagawa station, as we where quick in using public transport and where also quite close to Haneda airport. We did not eat any breakfast at the hotel, because we did not book that option.

Air-conditioning was not that easy to control, as the room was much cooler than expected and we where unable to figure out how to turn it off or reduce the cooling.

Good

A very grand -looking hotel! Very elegantly decorated with beautiful furniture and screens and lamps that are works of art. A Tully's cafe is a definite plus! Room is spacious with a balcony that offers an awesome view of the Tokyo tower, both in day and during the night. Parking is a great. You pay ¥1500 a day and get unlimited exits and re-entry. Hotel gives out parking chits freely when requested. Very helpful cleaning staff, willing to stop their work to answer some questions.

Was disappointed that the grandiose of the lobby was not a sign of how good the room should be. Whilst the receptionist at the check-in counter was professional, there is a lack of friendliness and even a welcoming smile. The room, although large and well- decorated, had a bathroom that smels terrible. In spite of having a bathtub, I wasn't able to enjoy a bath because the shower curtain stank so badly, and the rubber stopper was slimey from poor cleaning. The facial mousse smells like wet dog. No facial cotton or Q-Tips provided. Razors provided were also of poor quality. The room AC didn't seem to cool room properly, so the balcony door had to be opened to let some cool air in, however that inevitably let in mosquitoes even though I was on the 12th floor. The soundproofing of the room was not great. I could hear thumping of footsteps upstairs and noises as people walked past along the corridor. There is an ice dispenser on the floor, but i do wish somewhere in the building there would have been a microwave for dinging up food. I do not think I will be choosing to stay here again or recommend it to others. It just does not seem to be worth the price paid. Too much walking to places which seem to be very nearby due to hotel being on a hill. There are also many areas near the hotel that are under construction... Everywhere just looks very messy and/or inaccessible. Take note that there are a few hotels there named Prince and google the address for the SHIN Takanawa Grand Prince. Not to say that this isn't a good hotel. Perhaps I just would prefer one that has a more personal and friendly touch, that X-factor that makes my stay a memorable experience. Somehow, Grand Prince Shin-Takawana just didn't make the cut. This is a huge hotel. Understandably, staff may be very overworked and standards compromised, especially the cleaners.

Wonderful

When I traveled to Tokyo, I was always dissatisfied with small rooms. This hotel has spacious rooms, and it had a well-landscaped garden, so I felt like I was at a resort. Every hotel staffs were friendly and the rooms were clean.

Tokyo Metro Card cannot be used at Shinagawa Station in front of the Hotel main gate. Therefore, if you stay at this hotel and use the Tokyo Metro Card, you must use Takanawadai Station at the back gate. However, the Asakusa Line subway trains from Sengakuji Station to Takanawadai Station do not come often, so you should to check the train schedule.

Amazing japanese garden on site!

The grounds which this hotel sits on is absolutely stunning, their is a coy pond with feeding times and a waterfall, they have multiple restaurants on site which is good as there isn't alot around this area to choose from and it rained for some of our stay. We went to the buffet dinner and it was very good, the food was high quality and the staff were very good, wouldnt go every night as it was $90pp but still a great meal. The room was great, alot of room and a balcony with a view of tokyo tower, made for some great pics at night time. We stayed on level 14. There is a convenice store on the first floor which was great on the rainy days aswell, they had ponchos and umbrellas for purchase there but the hotel has umbrellas for you to use just ask them. They have taxis constantly waiting out the front which we used several times to get around in the rain, they let us keep our bags when we checked out as we had a late flight that evening. Will definitely stay here again there is so much to do just at the hotel.

When we first walked into our room it had a cigarette stench which disappeared after opening to balcony door for abit and they provide air purifiers. Throughout the stay we noticed smoke smell coming from outside and notice people smoking from their balconies even though it's strictly not smoking, hard to blame the hotel for this but just be aware, it definitely didn't ruin our stay and only happened a couple of times. The bathrooms are abit dated, I think I was expecting abit more for the price tag of this hotel but I guess you pay for everything else the hotel provides, again didn't ruin the stay. They don't have chromcast or apps on the TV so you have to bring your own or ipad if you want to watch netflix, would of expected a 5 star hotel to have this to be honest and they could easily integrate this to the rooms but just be aware prior to your stay. Weren't expecting a washer or dryer in the room but the laundry service is very expensive we just used a laundromat around the corner for 300 yen and it was actually an awesome little place.

Great room with big spaces compare to other hotels. Comfortable stay and good place to relax.

The room is big, great for couples. Though the location is quite far from the station, not so convenient when you have big luggages, but there's shuttle bus if you are not in a hurry to drop you off at the branch near the train station.

The way to the hotel that we have to climb up after a long walk in Tokyo.

Location -- close to Shinagawa station.

Walking uphill with the luggage to reach hotel is not pleasant. Shuttle bus of Price hotels is not a choice: first, you need to walk to another Prince hotel, wait some 15min, then drive around to reach your hotel.

Good location well connected with Haneda Airport and attractions in Teleport

Location was the biggest advantage. 10min walk from Shinagawa Station, so it was perfect for catching early morning flight from Haneda airport.

Hotel lobby is stunning and there is a very nice cafe on the ground floor. The rooms were spacious and clean, however they were a bit worn down already, but overall quite decent.
